The first floor features a shop with a wide variety of Shiroishi souvenirs, including Shiroishi Castle-exclusive items, historical goods, and Shiroishi's specialty product, U-men. There are so many different types of U-men alone! In addition to the classic white U-men, there are also colorful varieties such as cherry blossom pink, yellow, and green made by mixing in different ingredients. There are also U-men packages that feature popular characters as well as collaborations with Yajiro Kokeshi, making it really hard to choose!
This way for history buffs.
There is also a restaurant on the first floor where you can enjoy a meal with both a spacious tatami-matted area and table seating available.
The recommended menu item is Date Chicken U-men. The Fresh U-men has a different texture from commercially available dried noodles, with savory salt kneaded into the dough, letting you enjoy a plain, simple taste. For those just looking for a small bite, Fresh Strawberry Soft Serve or fried rice cakes are great options!
The second floor serves as a historical museum, featuring impressive models of Shiroishi Castle's main keep (1/100 scale) and the castle town.
There is also a castle exhibit corner that introduces the process of how Shiroishi Castle was restored using traditional architectural techniques of the time. Admission to this area is free.
On the third floor, the 3D high-definition theater screens three short films, each about 30 minutes long, featuring famous actors and local citizens as extras. The spears and arrows appear to leap out of the screen, creating an incredibly thrilling experience! (Note: Viewing is not free)
